This arc introduced Pete the Gryphon to the comic, who would become an important character later in the series, albeit with a much more different personality. This arc would later set up the future Cosmic Game storyline.
Peanut awakens Grape to show her something he found in the forest. He takes Grape along on a very complicated and specific path, as she puts it: "until we were clear in Brigham county and we took a left turn at an old oak tree with gnarled branches and a shack with a crazy old man who only spoke limericks. Then we passed under a rock outcropping that was rock shaped like a fist until we found a hole that was barely big enough for either of us to squeeze into, wherein were etchings on them as though it were an old tomb, which Peanut translated, and read aloud, and, uh..."
This long and complicated path takes them to a beautiful secret forest grove, in which the two meet a gryphon, whom Peanut names "Pete" as he cannot pronounce his name. Grape is amazed by the gryphon and asks him all sorts of questions, before deciding to ride on him through the skies. While enjoying the flight Grape tells the gryphon that she wishes it would never end, but then the gryphon tells her that "we all have to wake up eventually." and Grape wakes up back on the couch. She questions the validity of the dream and finds a giant feather with her on the couch.
