Daryl is a minor character in Housepets!. He is Miles' brother and is one of the two "Daryls" in the Wolf Pack along with his other brother Other Daryl. He first appeared in The Visitor.
Physical Appearance[]
Daryl is similar in color to his brothers Miles and Other Daryl, with light gray fur which is lighter on his underbelly. He has a very muscled physique like Miles but he's a bit taller and perhaps slimmer. Unlike his brothers, he used to speak with a southern american accent, but he seems to have lost it more recently. He has bright yellow eyes.
His most iconic feature is his yellow hat -- which he rarely takes off. When he's in public he wears an ID tag around his neck to prove that he isn't a feral wolf.
Personality[]
Daryl is a happy, carefree wolf. While physically strong, he is by his own definition, a total coward. Most of his roles include being a supporting character when it comes to the Wolf Pack, or hanging out with Karishad. His most important role to date was filling the role of "Archer" in Temple Crashers.
General Information[]
Daryl was introduced as Miles' brother, placed into the Equal Chance Program and moved from the wild into the Wolf House. He, like most of the male wolves, worked as security for the Milton Estate. He later visited the zoo with the rest of his family, but ended up being tranquilized after being mistaken for feral wolves.
In Temple Crashers, Keene finally decides to explore Pete's temple, which had been moved from the desert to his yard. He originally enlists Daryl as the "Warrior", but by his own admission he is a total coward, leading him to take up the role of "Archer" instead, successfully navigating the temple to reach Pete.
Later on, he hosted a stag party for King for his wedding, and later worked as security during Sabrina's wedding to Jata, and along with the other wolves, fought the Feragan prince off after Fido confessed his love for Sabrina.
During the pack's Rites of Adulthood, he welcomed Bino to participate in it (repeatedly calling him Bean-o instead of Bye-no), despite stating it wouldn't make Bino any taller. After Bino's test of navigating by scent continues into nighttime, Daryl tries to call Bino back, trying to assure him by saying his own rites took two weeks, but Bino stubbornly continues forward--leading him to fall into a chasm.
Daryl next appeared during the county fair, and helped his brother Other Daryl out during the eating contest (which Other Daryl won.) Later that summer, he as well as the rest of the pack, assist when Bailey goes into labor, which included waking King up "gently" by proding him with his nose.
Later on, he joins the rest of the Wolf Pack to go camping at Miles' insistence they return to the wild, as Lana has announced to them that the Equal Chance Program is dismissing them as security. Once the group heads to their old habitat, Daryl whines about having to hunt again, but as Other Daryl ate all of their rations they are forced to go out for food. Daryl and Other Daryl discuss what kinds of human jobs they should take. Daryl states that they should remain wolves, not noticing Gale hiding in a tree, and he is captured by her, tied up and thrown into a pit. After Miles resolves his conflict with Gale, she sets them all free and they all return to the Wolf House. He and Other Daryl both end up taking jobs as chefs, wearing full-body hair nets to meet health standards.

- Rick Griffin named Daryl and Other Daryl after a recurring joke from the 1980's sitcom Newhart
- Daryl was introduced as Miles' other brother while Other Daryl was introduced some time later, but now the chubbier one is tagged as "Other Daryl"
- In Flashlight Tag, Daryl mentions the reason he and Other Daryl have the same name is because something happened during his Rite of Adulthood.
- Daryl owns a shaving kit for undisclosed reasons.
